BumpLapse ("we", "our", or "the app") is a pregnancy timelapse application published by EcomTime Agency, a company registered in France. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

2. Our Privacy Promise
Your photos, voice messages, and personal pregnancy data never leave your device. BumpLapse is built 100% offline. There is no cloud storage, no server uploads, and no account creation required. Everything you create stays on your phone.
3. Data Stored on Your Device
The following data is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to us or any third party:
- Bump photos — Weekly pregnancy photos you take or import
- Voice messages — Audio recordings you create within the app
- Timelapse videos — Generated videos from your photos
- Journal entries — Personal notes, baby names, and predictions
- Pregnancy information — Due date, baby name, gender preference
- App preferences — Language, notification settings, photo reminders
This data is stored in your device's local storage and app sandbox. If you uninstall the app, this data is permanently deleted.
4. Data We Collect
We collect minimal, anonymous data to improve the app experience. The lawful basis for this processing under GDPR is legitimate interest (product improvement and analytics) and consent (advertising attribution).
Analytics (PostHog)
- Screen views and feature usage (e.g., "user opened timelapse screen")
- Anonymous device information (device model, OS version, app version)
- No personal identifiers, no photo content, no pregnancy details
Purchase Information (RevenueCat)
- Subscription status (active, expired, trial)
- Purchase history (managed by Apple App Store / Google Play Store)
- No payment details are shared with us — all transactions are handled by the stores
Advertising Attribution (Meta SDK)
- Anonymous install attribution to measure advertising effectiveness
- Device advertising identifier (with your explicit consent on iOS 14.5+ via App Tracking Transparency)
- No personal data, no photo content
5. Third-Party Services and Data Protection
BumpLapse integrates the following third-party services. Each provider is contractually bound to protect your data with standards equivalent to or exceeding those described in this policy:

- Meta (Facebook) SDK — Install attribution. Meta Privacy Policy
- Apple App Store / Google Play Store — In-app purchases and app distribution
6. International Data Transfers
Your on-device data (photos, voice messages, videos, journal) is never transferred anywhere. However, the anonymous analytics and attribution data described in Section 4 may be processed by our third-party providers in the United States or other countries outside the European Economic Area (EEA).
These transfers are protected by:
- Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission
- The providers' compliance with applicable data protection frameworks
You can opt out of these data transfers at any time by disabling analytics in the app settings or declining the App Tracking Transparency prompt on iOS.
7. Permissions
BumpLapse requests the following device permissions, all used exclusively for in-app features:
- Camera — To take weekly bump photos with ghost overlay alignment
- Microphone — To record voice messages to your baby
- Photo Library — To save timelapse videos and milestone cards to your gallery
- Notifications — To send weekly photo reminders (optional, you choose the schedule)
- App Tracking Transparency (iOS) — To allow anonymous advertising measurement (requires your explicit consent)
You can revoke any permission at any time in your device settings.
8. Children's Privacy
BumpLapse is designed for adults (expectant parents). We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16 (as required by GDPR) or under 13 (as required by COPPA). The app does not require account creation or personal information to function.
9. Data Retention
- On-device data — Retained until you delete it or uninstall the app
- Analytics data — Anonymized and retained for up to 24 months, then automatically deleted
- Purchase data — Managed by Apple/Google and retained per their policies
- Attribution data — Retained by Meta per their data retention policy
10. Your Rights
Under GDPR (European Union), CCPA (California), and other applicable privacy laws, you have the right to:
- Access — Request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Rectification — Request correction of inaccurate data
- Erasure — Request deletion of your analytics data
- Portability — Receive your data in a machine-readable format
- Objection — Object to processing based on legitimate interest
- Withdraw consent — Withdraw consent for advertising attribution at any time (via iOS App Tracking Transparency or Android settings)
Since your personal content (photos, voice messages, videos, journal) is stored only on your device, you have full control over it at all times.

11. Data Security
Your personal content is protected by your device's built-in security (device passcode, biometric lock, app sandbox). Since we never transmit your photos or personal data, there is no risk of server-side data breaches for your personal content. Anonymous analytics data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or on this page. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
